Stanford University Study Group Encounters General Stilwell in Chongqing

古树新叶茂发，山城春意盎然。4月26日，美国斯坦福大学的二十余名师生来到重庆史迪威博物馆，展开了一场别开生面的历史之旅。在这里，他们与史迪威将军有了一次跨越时空的相遇。

With fresh leaves flourishing on age-old trees, the mountain city of Chongqing is brimming with the vibrancy of spring. On April 26, over 20 teachers and students from Stanford University, U.S. ventured into the Chongqing Stilwell Museum, embarking on a unique historical journey. Here, they encountered General Stilwell in a remarkable rendezvous transcending time and space.

在重庆史迪威博物馆，学生们驻足史迪威将军旧居，观看旧居复原展和抗战时使用过的防空洞；在展馆，观看史迪威将军生平图片展、二战时期美军援华空军图片实物展、“梅里尔抢夺者”突击队图片实物展；在电影厅，观看《史迪威与中缅印战区》纪录片，共同倾听史迪威将军与中国人民的友谊以及中美战时合作的历史故事。

Inside the Chongqing Stilwell Museum, the group ventured into the former residence, where they visited our restoration exhibit and the air-raid shelter used during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression; In the exhibition hall, they visited the Photo Exhibition on General Stilwell’s Life, as well as photo and physical exhibitions on the U.S. Air Support to China During WWII and Merrill’s Marauders. In the Freeman Hall, the group watched the documentary Stilwell and the CBI, learning about General Stilwell’s friendship with the Chinese people and history of wartime cooperation between China and the U.S.

整个参观过程，学生们沉浸在历史知识的学习中，认识了解“中国人民的朋友”史迪威将军。他们第一次看到在中国、在重庆有这样一座以美国将军名字命名的博物馆，为这座承载史迪威将军与中国人民深厚情谊的博物馆点赞。

Throughout the tour, students were fully immersed in the history and the stories of General Stilwell, a "great friend of the Chinese people". It was their first time seeing a museum in China, specifically in Chongqing, named after an American general, and they applauded this museum as a testament to the deep bond between General Stilwell and the Chinese people.

为促进中美青年交流与教育合作，今年4至6月斯坦福大学20位本科生在北京大学斯坦福中心参加研学项目。此次重庆站，研学团师生参观重庆史迪威博物馆，进一步了解和学习了中美战时合作的历史。大家表示，愿意在新时代开展更多的交流与合作，促进中美民间友好。

From April to June this year, 20 Stanford undergraduates joined a study program at Stanford Center at Peking University, which aims to foster exchanges and education cooperation between Chinese and American youth. As part of their experience in Chongqing, they toured the Chongqing Stilwell Museum, gaining insights into the wartime partnership between China and the U.S., looking forward to more exchanges and cooperation to foster people-to-people friendship between the two nations.
