来自15个国家的清华大学国际留学生参访重庆史迪威博物馆

International Students from 15 Countries Studying at Tsinghua University Visit Chongqing Stilwell Museum

细雨纷飞,挡不住前往的脚步。6月20日上午,来自15个国家的17名清华大学公共管理学院国际留学生到访重庆史迪威博物馆。参访团成员来自利比里亚、蒙古、厄立特里亚、阿尔及利亚、博茨瓦纳、冈比亚、斯里兰卡、印度尼西亚、纳米比亚、乌干达、卢旺达、莱索托、伊拉克、埃塞俄比亚和马来西亚。

Despite the drizzling rain, nothing could stop the footsteps towards the destination. On the morning of June 20th, 17 international students from 15 countries studying at the School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University visited the Chongqing Stilwell Museum. The delegation consisted of members from Liberia, Mongolia, Eritrea, Algeria, Botswana, Gambia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Namibia, Uganda, Rwanda, Lesotho, Iraq, Ethiopia, and Malaysia.

参访过程中,留学生们对史迪威将军旧居、图片实物展览、博物馆环境等表现出浓厚兴趣,跟随讲解员仔细聆听,拍照记录,并就他们想了解的问题同博物馆工作人员进行深入交流。他们表示,博物馆给他们提供了一个很好的了解中美战时交流合作历史的平台,在此探寻了史迪威将军的故事,近距离感受了史迪威将军与中国人民的历史友谊。

During the visit, the international students showed a keen interest in General Stilwell’s former residence, the photo exhibitions and museum environment. They attentively listened to the guide, took photos, and engaged in in-depth discussions with museum staffs about what they were interested in. They said that the museum provided them with a great platform to understand the historical exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States during wartime. They explored General Stilwell’s story, and experienced closely the historical friendship between General Stilwell and the Chinese people.

清华大学公共管理学院副院长殷成志介绍,来访国际学生均为来自发展中国家公共部门的中青年干部和业务骨干。此行的目的是了解重庆经济社会发展、生态环境建设和乡村振兴的实践,同时感受重庆的历史文化。此次在重庆的系列参访和交流活动为未来彼此的国际交流合作奠定了基础。

Yin Chengzhi, associate dean of the School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University, mentioned that these international students are all young public sector officials and professionals from developing countries. The purpose of their visit was to understand the economic and social development, ecological preservation, and rural revitalization practices in Chongqing, and to experience the history and culture of Chongqing. This series of visits and exchange activities in Chongqing have laid the foundation for future international exchanges and cooperation.
