Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Study Association Visits Chongqing Stilwell Museum
12月5日，上海宋庆龄研究会会长薛潮率领研究会成员参访重庆史迪威博物馆，并与史迪威研究中心进行交流座谈。市政府外办二级巡视员马勇、史迪威研究中心主任陶燕陪同参观。
On December 5, Xue Chao, President of the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Study Association, led a delegation to visit the Chongqing Stilwell Museum and held a discussion with the Stilwell Research Center. Ma Yong, Level-II Inspector of the Chongqing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Tao Yan, Director of the Stilwell Research Center, accompanied the visit.
研究会一行此次到访重庆，旨在推进“宋庆龄与统一战线”课题研究工作，传承和弘扬宋庆龄的伟大思想和崇高精神。此次行程覆盖重庆众多抗战遗址，重庆史迪威博物馆因见证抗战时期史迪威将军与宋庆龄的深厚情谊，成为本次调研之行的重要一站。
The delegation's visit aimed to advance research on the theme "Soong Ching Ling and the United Front" while promoting Soong's enduring legacy and spirit. Their itinerary included several wartime heritage sites across Chongqing, with the Chongqing Stilwell Museum being a key stop due to the strong friendship between General Stilwell and Soong Ching Ling during the war.
在博物馆讲解员的带领下，研究会一行参观了史迪威将军旧居、“伟大的朋友——史迪威将军生平图片展”“历史的见证：第二次世界大战时期美国援华空军图片实物展”“‘梅里尔抢夺者’突击队图片实物展”，并观看《史迪威与中缅印战区》和《传承五代的情谊》纪录片。
Guided by the museum staff, the delegation visited General Stilwell's former residence, "Great Friend - Photo Exhibition of General Stilwell's Life", as well as photo and physical exhibitions "Historical Witness: U.S. Air Support to China During World War II" and "Merrill's Marauders". They also watched documentaries Stilwell and the CBI and Friendship Transcending Five Generations.

在参观旧居时，薛潮回顾了4年前参观重庆史迪威博物馆的情景，表示修缮后的博物馆更加漂亮、展陈内容更加丰富，并对博物馆成功举办史迪威将军诞辰140周年纪念活动表示祝贺。在参观展馆时，当看到藏品柜里收藏的宋庆龄写给史迪威将军女儿南希·史迪威·伊斯特布鲁克的两封信件时，上海宋庆龄故居纪念馆馆长郑瑛激动地表示，信件的寄发地正是宋庆龄在上海的故居。这两封信件如同纽带，联结着双方为守护珍贵历史遗产而付出的不懈努力。
While visiting the residence building, Xue Chao reflected on his previous visit to the museum four years ago and expressed admiration for its enhanced exhibits and renovations. He also congratulated the museum on successfully hosting events to commemorate the 140th anniversary of General Stilwell's birth. Another highlight of the visit was the discovery of two letters from Soong Ching Ling to Nancy Stilwell Easterbrook, General Stilwell's daughter, on display in the exhibition hall. Zheng Ying, Director of the Soong Ching Ling Memorial Residence in Shanghai, excitedly noted that they were sent exactly from Soong's former residence in Shanghai. These letters symbolize the strong bond between the two sides in their lasting commitment to preserving their shared legacy.

参观结束后，双方进行了交流座谈。陶燕首先介绍了史迪威研究中心的历史沿革和近年发展情况，并从挖掘历史资源、搭建交往平台、聚合后代力量和加强国际合作几个方面进行了分享，表示期待与上海宋庆龄研究会进一步深化交流合作，携手取得更多成果。
Following the tour, the two sides held a discussion. Tao Yan provided an overview of the history and recent developments of Stilwell Research Center, emphasizing efforts to uncover historical resources, foster platforms for collaboration, engage descendants of U.S. forces supporting China during WWII, and strengthen international partnerships. She expressed hope for deeper cooperation with the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Study Association to achieve greater results together.

薛潮表示，抗日战争时期，宋庆龄为争取国际援助，与史迪威结下深厚的友谊，这段友谊也延续到了史迪威的女儿一代。近年来，上海宋庆龄研究会一直在推动宋庆龄与国际友人的关系研究，希望与史迪威研究中心共同挖掘史料、加强学术交流，更好传承宋庆龄增进各国友好、维护世界和平的精神。
Xue Chao shared that during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Soong Ching Ling formed a strong friendship with Stilwell to gain international support, and this bond was passed down to Stilwell's daughter. In recent years, the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Study Association has been focusing on studying Soong's relationships with international friends. He hoped to collaborate with the Stilwell Research Center to uncover historical materials, strengthen academic exchanges, and better carry on Soong Ching Ling's spirit of promoting international friendship and world peace.

The Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Study Association was founded on May 29, 1991, to mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of Honorary President Soong Ching Ling. The association was initiated by Wang Daohan, who served as its first president. It was jointly established by the Shanghai Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling Cultural Relics Management Committee and the China Welfare Institute. Its activities focus on collecting historical materials, conducting academic research, organizing discussions, publishing works, raising awareness, and offering policy advice. The current president is Xue Chao, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the 14th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress.
