On the morning of July 11, two student teams from Xi’an Technological University and Chongqing Normal University walked into the Chongqing Stilwell Museum for the purpose of Summer Social Practice. They visited the restoration exhibit of General Stilwell's former residence, watched the bilingual exhibitions in Chinese and English, took photos and videos of various items of the U.S. Army support to China during World War II, and carefully identified the signatures of Flying Tigers veterans on the “Friendship Wall”... In this museum, the only one in China named after a foreign soldier, the students listened to stories from the guide about the history of the Chinese and American people fighting side by side against Japanese fascist aggression, and were moved by the friendship between the “Great Friend” General Stilwell as well as his family and the Chinese people. Moreover, they gained knowledge beyond text books.
At the end of the visit, the students left messages in the guest book, expressing their gratitude to General Stilwell for assisting the Chinese government and people in resisting the Japanese invaders and their hope that the friendship between the Chinese and American peoples would be passed down from generation to generation.
